Open Scheduling and select Open Coverage. This view collects visits still needing a caregiver or agency coverage decision. Start with the nearest service date or highest client risk. Open the row and confirm the client, date, time, service address, required tasks, and payer requirements. Correct the visit if the time or requirements are wrong. Choose Find caregiver to see possible matches. If the shift was offered as an open shift, review any caregiver who expressed interest. Interest is not confirmed assignment until the agency approves it. Check availability, overlapping work, required credentials, skills, language or client preferences, travel distance, and continuity. Do not use a match score alone to substitute for verifying an active credential or real availability. Select the primary caregiver and add a backup when appropriate. Review the pay rate, visit instructions, and whether the caregiver will be notified. For urgent coverage, confirm receipt through your normal communication process. Save the assignment and publish the shift if not already visible to the caregiver. If a warning flags a conflict, missing credential, or risk, resolve it instead of dismissing it.
