Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) captures the time and location caregivers arrive and leave client visits. Set up your EVV method, location rules, and exception reasons before publishing care plans that require it. Check whether your state, payer programs, or service lines require EVV. Some programs mandate it; others allow alternatives. Document the specific rules so your team knows which visits must have EVV and which methods are permitted. Go to Settings, select Schedules, and find the EVV & timesheets section. Here you configure the clock-in method (GPS + mobile app, telephony, or manual entry), location verification, early arrival restrictions, exception reasons, and auto-approval rules. Select the method caregivers will use to verify their arrival and departure. GPS + mobile app is the default and provides location proof. Telephony (call in/out) uses a phone line. Manual entry requires the caregiver to type times into the app. Choose the option your payers accept and your team can support. Decide whether caregivers can clock in early (and if so, how many minutes before the scheduled start). Set whether location verification is required, how strict the geofence is around the client's address, and what happens when the check-in location does not match.
